Only 2.5 hours East of Johannesburg lies the province of the rising sun, Mpumalanga and the hidden gem that is Elandskloof.
Lake Heron Game and Trout Farm is situated in the Elandskloof Valley 19 km from the village of Dullstroom. Our accommodation is ideally suited for Flyfishing, a couple’s romantic getaway, or for a family weekend.
Lake Heron Game and Trout Farm provides comfortable, stylish accommodation in 3 separate cottages with king size beds and single beds , and have cosy open log fireplaces, baths, and private entrances, enjoying views of the lake, garden and surroundings.
Wood for your first night is complimentary with further supply for sale on request.
Two fishing dams are available on a catch and release basis only. They are 500m apart with the old farmhouse & cottages between. All angling is with fly tackle and barbless hooks. The dams are stocked with rainbow and brown trout.
The farm is fully game fenced and has Eland, Black Wildebeest, Fallow Deer, Mountain Reedbuck, Blesbuck, Duikers & Bush Pig. The game are often seen in front of the dams close to the dwellings during early mornings.
There is a clay pigeon shooting range on the farm for the novice and regular sport shooters.
There are limited hunting opportunities with the owner for highveld game and Macnab hunts during the winter hunting season.
BY PRIOR ARRANGEMENTS, AND WELL IN ADVANCE.
There is no service included in our rates over the weekends as no staff reside on the farm.
NOTE: There are resident pets on the farm that love visiting the cottages as we do not lock them up. Please refrain from feeding them human food and BONES.
